Sumo Logic OpenTelemetry Collector 0.149.0.2918 is an observability data-shipping agent that consolidates the collection of logs, metrics, traces, and associated metadata into a single, lightweight process for forwarding to the Sumo Logic SaaS analytics platform. Built as a hardened distribution of the upstream OpenTelemetry Collector, the software gives operators a vendor-neutral yet Sumo-tuned alternative to proprietary forwarders, allowing Kubernetes clusters, Linux and Windows servers, application pods, and cloud services to be enrolled without deploying multiple niche agents. Typical use cases include streaming container stdout/stderr logs from Kubernetes DaemonSets, scraping Prometheus-format metrics from microservices, capturing host-level system metrics and journald entries on Linux, forwarding Windows Event Log channels, enriching all data with resource and service attributes, and routing the unified telemetry through a central gateway before it reaches Sumo Logic for correlation, dashboarding, and alerting.
